The Commune consists of 8 villages: Bukowina Tatrzanska which stretches on the ridges and sides of Gliczarowskie Foothills (Pogorze Gliczarowskie), Gron and Lesnica which lie in its valleys, and Brzegi which is the farthest to the south. In The Bialka River valley, on its left bank lies Białka Tatrzanska, and on the opposite bank - Czarna Gora, Jurgow and Rzepiska belonging to Spisz region.
The neighborhood of Bukowina Tatrzanska has its unique local climate. The average annual precipitation is 854 mm. Snow cover remains from December till March and till the end of April in the higher located districts.
The two main transportation routes are: national road No. 49 from Nowy Targ to the border crossing in Jurgow and Provincial road No. 960 to border crossing at Lysa Polana.
COMMUNE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS:
In its boundaries Bukowina Tatrzanska Commune has the High Tatras with their treasures such as Morskie Oko (Marine Eye Lake), Mount Rysy, Dolina Pieciu Stawow Polskich (Valley of Five Polish Ponds), Trail of Orla Perc (Eagle’s Path), Mount Woloszyn and Mount Swinica.
Wonderful skiing areas with artificial snow cannons and lighting system and with catering facilities:
- in Bialka Tatrzanska, 20 ski- and chairlifts operating at “Kotelnica Bialczanska” Center
- in Bukowina Tatrzanska, 20 ski-lifts and a chairlift at “Turnia” Center
- in Jurgow – “Hawran” chairlift
- in Czarna Gora – “Koziniec” chairlift
Thermal pools: “Terma Bukowina” – opened in December 2008.
Areas for easy walks with the most beautiful views of the Tatras, the Pieniny Mountains, the Gorce Mountains and Mount Babia Gora in the Beskidy Mountains.
